We arrived in Los Argos on Wednesday the 5th September after sampling some wine at the famous wine fountain.

It was a shorter walk than usual past a disused monastery that will only reopen if there are enough new noviates….so spaces available!

We then followed an alternate route up through hills that were covered in trees. It was beautiful and unlike the usual Camino route; less crowded.

We had time to chat with a man who is doing the Camino to raise money for a boy in The Netherlands who has some form of leukaemia (Ewing’s). We took the opportunity to pray for the boy**.

We arrived about twelve thirty at our albergue and got settled in with some lunch.

I went for a wee nap and then went out to buy plasters for my blisters*, the rumbling started and the rain fell.

The streets cleared of bustle of tourists and pilgrims.

*By trial, much trial and error we found that avoiding blisters was the best policy… moisturise your feet with Tiger Balm, Vic’s vapour rub, then wear dry socks in good shoes/boots with plenty of room. If you notice any… ANY discomfort, stop and remove your boots and identify the cause. If there is a spot that has been rubbed it may blister so, dry your feet, moisturise again and let the air about your feet for a bit. It may be necessary to apply a layer of moleskin or even tape to the reddened area to dissipate the friction on that spot.

**We have since learned that the boy passed away. Our prayers continue for his parents and friends.
