8 September 2018 – Today we climbed out of Najera through red layers of rock and as the sun rose behind us our view was over more vineyards and fields of Rioja.
It was a difficult day as our feet were sore and blistered from before.
I came across a dead sparrow on the path and was reminded of Matthew 10:29
What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.
He sees me, He loves me, oh yes!
We came across a shopping trolley parked by the side of the track, no body with it…

Today was a little sparse on provision – we usually have been snacking on blackberries, sometimes grapes if they’ve been left for us. Yesterday a man gave us almonds from a load he had just harvested, still in their fruit.
Oh and just like the movie we walked along broad tracks through grain fields and didn’t take a picture of it on my phone, sorry!
But then we got to Santo Domingo de la Calzada and the thunder and lightning began the streets cleared and the rain poured.
