But normal things like shopping, having dinner, sitting in a gorgeous park as the sun goes down just doesn’t seem to be enjoyable. I just learned today that a good friend’s son who was in a mountain bike accident a week ago has extensive damage in his brain and if he were older the doctors would turn off the machines that are currently sustaining his life.

I wept as I spoke to my friend earlier and even now as I write this.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Update 7/4/19:

My friends son made a miraculous recovery, he is out of hospital, getting stronger and returning to work in a few weeks! Praise God!
